Choosing the best web host from dozens of options can be difficult. We get it. Yet your decision can have a direct impact on your website. Even if you produce the best possible content, your visitors won’t stick around to enjoy it if it doesn’t load quickly enough or if it’s unavailable. That’s why you need a great web host.

But don’t worry: we’re here to help. Our experts at Mambo Server have spent more than a year testing and investigating every popular hosting service. Some did surprisingly well during our benchmarks, while others were quite disappointing.

After a thorough evaluation of the results, these were the 10 web hosts that came out on top.

1

Bluehost

According to our tests, Bluehost is the all-round best hosting provider. Don’t be fooled by its low prices – its plans are jam-packed with value. The company is one of the few hosts recommended by the WordPress foundation, and its platform is designed to make it possible for anyone to create their own website.

Hostinger

Hostinger has the cheapest shared hosting plans in the industry – by far. In fact, its competitiveness forced many industry leaders to rethink their prices. The list of features is admittedly smaller for entry-level plans, but where else can you get a dollar per month hosting? It’s a great deal, whichever way you look at it.

HostGator

HostGator is a close-runner up to our best web host. Another great option for beginners, this hosting service is almost indistinguishable from Bluehost (they are sister-companies, after all). However, there are a few noteworthy differences.

How Do We Review Web Hosts?

We put each web host through extensive vetting before we write our review. This involves signing up for the service, acquiring a domain name, setting up a website, as well as testing its performance and all other relevant features. Although lengthy, the process helps us weed out hidden flaws, resource bottlenecks, and other details that are not immediately apparent.

The web hosting services that we recommend pass thorough evaluations with flying colors. However, we lean in favor of web hosts that are easy to use and beginner-friendly. This is the reason why services like DigitalOcean and Vultr, excellent as they may be, take the last two spots in our guide.

Meanwhile, providers like Bluehost, HostGator, and DreamHost – whose entire platforms are built around ease of use – are currently at the top of our list.

Bear in mind that web hosts change their plans, software, and hardware all the time. After all, technology evolves and competition is highly dynamic in the tech industry. As such, we make it a point to continuously test the top competitors and update our reviews with the latest results.
