We’ve spent a lot of time putting together this VeeroTech review covering the great things they do, where they could improve, and giving you all the crucial information to know whether they’re the right host for you so that you can make an informed decision when it’s time to hit that Order button and get your server setup, whether it’s your first experience in buying web hosting or just an additional server to go with many that you own already.

VeeroTech is what we could refer to as a ‘grassroots’ hosting company, their popularity mostly seems to spread by word of mouth, which is a really good sign in the world of hosting because so many people have had bad experiences with so many of the most popular hosts, so when you’ve got a dark horse contender coming along and doing everything the right way, you get excited to share them with your friends – and we’re excited to share VeeroTech with you right now.

They’re like a well-kept secret. Sometimes, when people find a great host, they want to avoid telling too many people about it because they’re worried that if the host becomes too popular, their popularity will suffer. VeeroTech has displayed that they’re perfectly capable with dealing with the growing pains, and they’re more than worthy of all the praise they get. But don’t get the wrong idea, this isn’t some obscure company that nobody has heard of, they come highly recommended by industry experts.

VeeroTech is heavily recommended by the webhosting community on reddit as well, who are a notoriously critical and very well-informed about this type of thing, so their recommendations mean a lot. But don’t take their word for it, let’s dig a little deeper.

VeeroTech Review: Features

Before we dig into the specifics, here’s an overview of some of the features that make VeeroTech stand out. We’ll cover each of these in greater detail before the end of this shared hosting review.

  • Full SSD Storage: All of their sites are hosted on 100% solid-state drives for optimal performance.
  • Support is ALWAYS available: All day, everyday support means whether it’s 8pm on Christmas or 4am on any random day, there is going to be someone availiable to help you.
  • Uptime guarantee: If they don’t hit their guaranteed goal of 99.9% uptime, they’ll make sure you’re compensated with actual money, not just an apology or an excuse. They don’t want to have to pay you that money, so obviously they’re going to do everything humanly possible to ensure your sites are never down.
  • Free migrations: Thinking of moving from another host that wasn’t meeting your needs? VeeroTech is eager to help with that process with a free professional website migration. Don’t worry about taking a DIY approach and missing an important detail, this is their bread and butter and they get it right for you.
  • Money back guarantee: If you aren’t happy with your shared or reseller hosting packages, don’t sweat it – they’ll give you a full refund. If something’s wrong, however, chances are their expert staff will have fixed it before a refund even has a chance to cross your mind, but at least you know you’re covered in the worst case scenario.
  • Expert staff: We’ve referenced their expert staff already a couple of times, and that’s because these people really know their stuff. With decades of experience in IT and hosting, they’ve seen it all.

VeeroHost is on the smaller side compared to some of the massive hosting companies out there, which is a plus because they’ll really get to know you and your website and be able to offer exactly what you need. There’s a real personal, bespoke feel to it, even thought it’s only costing you as low as a few bucks per month. A host like VeeroHost is slightly more expensive than Hawk Host, for example, but when you compare the level of customer service, it’s clear why.

So, there’s the basics, now let’s dig a little deeper and take a look at the different plans that VeeroTech offers, along with some suggestions on which one might be suitable for whom.

Hosting Options from VeeroTech

WORDPRESS HOSTING

VeeroTech’s WordPress hosting gives you a provisioned server specifically configured and optimized for WordPress, where you don’t have to mess around with installing it. Their savvy optimizations and SSD servers ensure you’re getting exceptional performance for shared hosting. This is ideal for somebody who is going to be using WordPress, and isn’t super well-versed in server maintenance nor really interested in getting under the hood, so to speak. If you just want something that’s going to work, and get the job done, and you aren’t getting a ton of visitors to your site yet, this may be the perfect option.

PRICE: $3.95 per month

FEATURES: SSD drives, instantly ready to go

  • Worpress is already installed for you on their enterprise-level servers
  • 5GB lighting-fast SSD storage
  • 1GB of ram
  • Daily free backups
  • CloudFlare integration
  • SpamExperts spam filtering
  • DDoS protection,
  • And some other useful behind-the-scenes features that you won’t usually find at this price range

They also offer a higher-tier for $8.95 per month called WordPress Pro which comes with 35GB storage and 2GB ram. For just over double the price, you’re getting significantly more resources.

In addition, there’s a $12 plan called Business SSD which brings it up to 50 gb storage, 4GB ram, and a boost to the CPU speed. The main difference between the $3.95 SSD option and the other shared hosting options is that the most entry-level option only allows for one website, whereas Business SSD allows for an unlimited amount, however it’s not specifically tailed for WordPress (but will still work great for WordPress just the same, you’ll simply need to install WP yourself which is very simple to do, and we’re pretty confidant their support staff would be happy to help with that either way.)

If you need to host additional sites, you’ll save 20% for each additional package you order.

WHO IS THIS FOR: If you get a few hundred visitors to your site a day, even more, this is probabally the perfect solution. If you’re getting thousands of visitors per day and are earning big revenue from your site, it’s time to consider something more powerful, which we’ll be looking at right now.

VEEROTECH MANAGED VPS HOSTING

If your website is really popular, you need to invest in better hosting and VeeroTech’s Managed VPS is the answer. You get the same support and experience you would receive from any of their other packages, with a much more powerful server backing you up. The only downside? You’re going to have to pay for it. VeeroTech’s managed VPS options start at $69.99 and go all the way up to $469.99. This may seem like a lot to pay for a website that isn’t generating a lot of traffic or income, but for websites that are generating income and absolutely, positively need to be performing at their best at all times, this is a small price to pay.

Let’s compare their entry level VPS with their highest-end offering to get an idea of both extremes, and just keep in mind there are three other options in between so you can make sure you’re getting exactly what you need without overspending. Also note that it’s incredibly simple to upgrade as your needs grow, so don’t worry about starting off on a cheaper tier and seeing how it goes before deciding to upgrade to something more powerful. You’ll get all the same support and help, the only difference is the resources that you’ll receive.

  • VeeroTech’s 4G-SSD-VPS comes with 4GB of DDR4 ram, 2 vCPU, and 2,000GB of bandwidth for $69.99.
  • Their 12G-SSD-VPS option comes with 12GB DDR4 ram, 8 vCPU, 4,000GB of bandwidth and comes in at $469.99.

Now let’s look at the most important criteria when choosing a hosting company. We’ve divided all of the most important aspects of a great webhost into the following categories so you can decide which ones matter most to you, thus giving them the most weight in your final decision.

PRICE/VALUE

For very high quality shared hosting, VeeroTech is reasonably priced. There are cheaper options, but VeeroTech generally brings more to the table which makes it very worthwhile. Offerings such as daily backups, SSD drives across the board, and free SSL certificates are all things you can expect to pay extra for a lot of the time, however they’re all included, even with VeeroTech’s most affordable plans.

When it comes to their managed VPS packages that start at $69.99, that’s a little more than you might spend with some other options, for example KnownHost’s offerings start at less than half the price, which can definitely muddy the waters and make the decision more difficult. In this comparison, for example, Knownhost’s most entry level VPS is $25 and has twice as much bandwidth and 8x as many CPU cores as VeeroTech is currently offering, despite VeeroTech being nearly 3x the price.

So, when it comes to shared hosting, we can strongly recommend VeeroTech as one of the very best options, and shared hosting seems to really be their bread and butter. At least for the time being, it’s difficult to recommend their VPS packages, not to say they aren’t solid servers, but it doesn’t necessarily seem to be a focus for them for the time being, so we would stick to VPS companies with the scale to offer more competitive packages.

SUPPORT

It’s always good to actually test out the support for yourself with a hosting company. We reached out to VeeroTech’s support to get some further information, and they replied to our initial message within 3-4 minutes with a complete response.

It’s always nice when you can ask about several different things and you can tell that the person on the other end was actually paying attention to carefully address each concern.

They were hesitant to provide us with an “average” ticket time, because their focus is on getting the ticket resolved with the first response rather than a lot of back-and-forth. A common little “trick” in the hosting world is to immediately respond to the first support ticket saying “I’m looking into this” because it drastically reduces their average ticket time, even when it’s taking a lot longer to actually address the issue.

So in this case, VeeroTech gets points for taking their time to investigate and solve the issue rather than trying to rack up unnecessary back-and-forth dialogue just to inflate the numbers. That said, they have techs available around the clock to help with whatever issues arise, and our experience has been great thus far.

They have a very clear support scope which details exactly what you can expect from each of their different tiers of servers, and VeeroTech charges $50 per hour for any help you need beyond what’s covered by them.

For their shared servers, here’s what is covered: “server side support; PHP, LiteSpeed, Apache*, server functionality, network connectivity & performance management.”

In addition, they say they’ll do their best to help with 3rd party scripts and WordPress errors but they don’t make any guarantees to offer full support in these instances.

When it comes to licensed software that they provide, such as WHMCS, VeeroTech describes their support as follows: “While we provide included software licensing for applications, we only provide a low level, “best-effort” support scope for these products.”

These types of disclaimers of what they will and won’t cover aren’t something that’s totally unique in the hosting world, and it’s good to be upfront about it, however it’s important to point out that there are a lot of things that would fall under the umbrella of being at VeeroTech’s discretion as to whether or not they’ll help with it, or whether or not you’ll be charged extra for that particular issue.

They don’t provide root access, with the reason being “due to full server management & monitoring,” basically saying you don’t need root access because they’ll take care of it. For novice users, this won’t be a big issue, but more experienced webmasters may be annoyed by this, especially since some of the “extras” as far as customer services goes are kind of up in the air.

PERFORMANCE

We installed a fresh instance of WordPress on one of VeeroTech’s most basic servers to see how it would look. This is a completely fresh installation with a plugin called Autoptimize with helps optimize some of the code a little bit, nothing major, there’s still room for improvement. Now, once you have a full site built with multiple plugins and so on, you can expect your site to take longer than this  to load, obviously, but this gives you a good idea where you’re starting from:

Slightly over half a second for 160.8 kB isn’t perfect, but it’s definitely workable, and considering that this server only costs a few bucks a month, it’s definitely nothing to lose sleep over. With further optimizations, we could get that load time down even more, and if speed is your biggest concern, look at a VPS instead. As far as shared goes, this is a solid score and we’re happy with it.

It’s worth pointing out that their shared hosting packages include backups which are completed daily on a one-week rolling basis. However, you should still have your own plan in place for backing up your site because in the unlikely event that something happens to your server that causes permanent damage, you won’t want all of your backups in the same place.

For VPS customers, the free backups aren’t included but they encourage you to consider their paid backup solutions. Once again, your best bet will be backups that are not stored on the same server, however it doesn’t hurt to use numerous backup solutions in case something goes wrong with one of them. Redundancy is always a good thing, and you can never be too prepared when it comes to data loss.

VeeroTech Review on the EASE OF USE

For the average user, VeeroTech’s platform is quite standard and you’ll know intuitively what to do. For more advanced users, as we’ve mentioned already, the lack of root access can be an issue, especially if you don’t want to have to wait for them to make certain changes or to install certain software that requires root access.

Here’s a look at their client area:

It’s all very clean and easy to navigate, you can find exactly what you’re looking for. As you can see, we only have a single account with them, but for someone with multiple accounts it becomes progressively more useful to have everything in one place.

Also you’ll notice at the top of the above image, they have an entire series on using WordPress effectively, starting with optimization and covering all of the important aspects. Then, they have a survery for new customers to ensure your needs are being met, and to collect useful information to improve their service, which is a very good look and makes for a great first impression. Finally, they have links to an assortment of resources on YouTube for those who like to learn visually.

You’ll find your standard cPanel ready to go so you can handle all of the day to day stuff easily. If you’ve used it before, you know what to expect. If you haven’t used cPanel before, don’t worry, as you can see it’s very straight forward and incredibly well-documented all over the web.

All in all, we’ve been impressed with VeeroTech and they’re doing a great job. The amount of resources you’ll need really depends on how popular your website is and how well optimized it is. VeeroTech’s sales department will be happy to go over some options with you.
